Christmas Layout

Hello Everyone! Hope you all are enjoying this Christmas season. This is my post for the Patches of Pink December Design Team post. Our theme for December is of course to create a Christmas project. This is probably the easiest scrapbook layout I think I have EVER done. I love the patterned christmas paper so I did not want to add to much to this. It is very simple. I am usually a traditional red, green & silver christmas girl but I love the nontraditional colors in this one.

There is not much to this layout so I really do not have sizes for anything. The photo mats will fit a 4x6 picture and the Merry Christmas is cut using the Cricut Craft Room & my Cricut Classic Font Cartridge. This is the first time I have used the Cricut Craft Room and I loved it, I was able to weld the letters together instead of cutting individual letters. I LOVE that feature. The patterned paper is by Paper Studio and the plain cardstock is just stuff I had on hand that matched. Its hard to see in the picture but there are also little rhinestones placed in the middle of snowflakes on the page, adds a little bling to the page.

Please stop on by the Patches of Pink blog and see what the other design team members have created. Also don't forget, we would love to see what new christmas projects you have made. Link them up here. We can't wait to see what you have come up with.

Pinteresting News

Hello to all my amazing friends out in blog land! Hope you are having an amazing day so far. Things have been a little crazy around my house these past few months so I have not had a lot of crafty time. I have done a few little projects here and there but nothing like I was doing before I found out I was pregnant. I have decided to start something new here on my blog and I hope that you will all enjoy it. Have you checked out Pinterest? I have to admit that searching Pinterest has become somewhat of an obsession. Just what I need!!!!!  If you do not know what Pinterest is you must check it out here and see what all the fuss is about. I have found some really awesome creative inspiration and amazing blogs just by searching. I will warn you that it is addictive, sometimes I just can't stop searching. LOL! The inspiration is endless. You must give it a try. So... I am going to start a weekly post (hopefully weekly) about my favorite pins of the week. It may just be something cute that I have seen or it may be crafty or food related, who knows. I can't wait to share with you all the fun creative stuff I find. Happy Pinning!

I made this recipe last weekend and my husband and I LOVED it. It is so easy to get together and it tasted amazing. Its a must try recipe.

I thought these would make some really cute homemade gifts.

Adorable newborn photo that I would love to do with my son when he is born.

All pictures are from pinterest and are linked back to the original pin by clicking on the picture.

Thanks for stopping by, Happy Pinning!

Hello Everyone! Here is the October Design Team Post for Patches of Pink. This month we were asked to create a project with a Halloween theme. Hope you enjoy!

Just You & Me

Hello all my crafty friends. Just wanted to share with you another cute fun layout I made last weekend. I had so much fun making this and the fall one I made. If you have not seen that one click here to read all about it. I plan to make more in the very near future, especially with a baby on the way I want to get a head start on the scrapbook for my little one. I did this out of pure fun so I do not have sizes of anything but I will tell you that the tree, hearts and phrase all came from the Sweethearts cartridge and the paper is by Echo Park Paper. I really love how simple this turned out. Enjoy!

As always thank you all so much for stopping by!!!!

Patches of Pink Thurday Link-Up-Fall

Well it's time for another Thursday Link-Up over at Patches of Pink  featuring projects made by the design team. The weather where I live has finally decided to cool down and we are enjoying very fall like temperatures this week. I am so ready for fall, it was a little to warm and humid for me this summer. We could not enjoy doing anything outside so we have been cooped up inside for what seems like months. I am hoping that those awful hot temps are gone because we are enjoying the cool breeze coming in and having the windows open. Well, the project theme for the Patches of Pink DT was to create a project with a fall theme using all those beautiful fall colors. I think that this may be one of my all time favorite projects I have made. I was not sure on what I was going to do at first especially using those fall colors because they are just not colors that I usually use but I had a lot of fun making this layout. Yes, I just said LAYOUT. I do not think that I have featured a layout on my blog in a VERY long time. I LOVE this layout and I can't wait to make more. I have been so into making the cards that I have completely forgotten layouts. You will probably be seeing more layouts from me very soon.

I apologize for the awful picture but I do not have a great camera and I am by no means a professional photographer. Its really hard to see the stitching done on all around the outer edge and on the tree.

Recipe
12x12 green card stock
12x12 Patterned Paper by Fancy Pants Designs cut down to 11 1/4 x 11 1/4

We would love to see what fall projects you have created. Head on over to Patches of Pink and link up your projects.

A Little Someone New

Hello Everyone! Just thought I would take a few minutes and share a really cute easy baby card I made last weekend for a baby shower. I think that this is my new favorite card size, 4x4. I just love it! Perfect & Simple. This card got lots of comments and the new mom wanted to know where I got a card like that. I love how these colors look together, they came together great. I think I have used this color combo before but I really like it.

I was going to use one my baby stamps by Scrappy Mom's Stamps on the outside as well but decided I liked it just how it is. I LOVE these stamps! Baby buggy cut from Simply charmed!

Thursday Link-Up

Hello and Welcome to another Thursday Link-Up featuring projects made by the Patches of Pink DT. Did you know that August is Happiness Awareness Month? I had no idea until Jalisa over at Patches of Pink gave us our project theme for the PoP Design Team Post. The theme for this month is to make any project that represents something that makes us HAPPY:) I am so glad that I was able to get out of bed and into my craft room to create this project. I immediately knew what my project would be. As some of you may already know I am pregnant with my first and extremely excited, especially since our road to pregnancy has been long. My pregnancy is something that makes me very Happy! I got this idea from a picture frame I saw in a store about a month ago. I absolutely LOVED the quote that was on the frame and knew I had to use it in a project of my own. The frame at the store had a very similar theme to the project I have created but it was very plain so this is my take on it. Since we do not know the sex of the baby yet I kept this pretty neutral in color but am very HAPPY with how it turned out.

If the quote is hard to read, this is what it says...

Mommy loves you little one, Daddy loves you too.
And soon, oh so very soon
we will be holding You!

Recipe
Layout size 8X8
All paper coordinates from a paper pack from Wal-Mart
Giraffe cut at 4 1/4 Create a Critter
Phrase "Sweet" Create a Critter
Ribbon (scrap)

White Gel Pen used for stitching

Please stop on over at the Patches of Pink blog and check out all the other fabulous projects by the other PoP Design Team Members and don't forget to play along with us in this challenge and link-up! We can't wait to see what makes you Happy!

Missing my Blog

Hello to all my friends and followers. I cannot believe that I have been gone from my blog and crafting for so long. I have been wanting to be in my craft room for months but it has been near impossible for me to do much of anything lately. I have missed reading all your blogs and seeing all your fantastic projects. I promise I will be back really soon. As a few of you may already know...I am Pregnant! These last few months have NOT been great. I have been so exhausted. I am finally starting to get my energy back but I am not completely back to normal yet. I feel like if I am not resting I am thinking about what I am going to eat next. Food is #1 on my brain right now. I have been working long days at my job to all summer so that has not helped my exhaustion. We are very excited about this little one and feel so blessed that god has finally answered our prayers for a baby.

I hope to be back to posting on my blog very soon so please stay tuned. I have so much crafting I want to do now that I have a little one on the way. There are so many ideas just racing through my head. Happy crafting everyone!

As always...Thank you ALL so much for stopping by!

Just a few cards

Hi there! Hope your Sunday is starting out great. I had big plans for today that included spending a lot of time outside doing some yard work and planting flowers. Unfortunately the weather here in Illinois is not going to make that at all possible today. Last week we had temps in the high 80's and even a couple days just over 90 and pretty humid, we even had to turn the air on. Well today it is rainy, windy and cold with a HIGH today of 50. Needless to say we now have the heat on in the house. GRRRRRRRRR! So I guess today I get some things done around the house and hopefully some crafting as well. Yesterday I got to spend the whole day with my Mom, Sister & adorable niece celebrating Mother's Day since I could not be with them last weekend. We had a great time as usual and even got to do a little bit of scrapbook shopping as well. I wanted to post a couple cards that I made for them but did not want to post until I was able to give them.

This is an easel card that I made for my Mom. I have been playing around a little bit with my photo editing program in hopes of making my photos look a little better. I also photographed these photos against a white background which I think came out OK. I like how bright and clear I was able to make them, so all the details can be seen. I am not a pro at taking photos by any means and do not have a great camera either but I think I like the way they turned out. I still have a lot to learn.

If you don't know how to make an easel card you really do have to give it a try. It is really easy and I found my dimensions and a great tutorial here at Scrappin 5 Little Cupcakes. She gives all the dimensions and shows how it goes together. There are other easel card dimensions and tutorials out in blog land but this is just the one I picked to use. The sentiment at the bottom is printed using a font available in my Microsoft Word program. The font used was Harrington. The patterned paper is by Paper Studio and the cute snail is cut from the Create-A-Critter cartridge and the Mom letters were cut from Cricut Classic Font Cartridge.

This is the card that I made for my sister. As I have told you before I am in LOVE with Zebra print and I absolutely LOVE these colors together. It ROCKS! The sentiment for this card is actually printed on using a font from Kevin & Amanda. Find the font I used here.

I have linked these cards up at:

My Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #11

Good Morning to you all! Hope your Monday is starting out great. I am in LOVE with zebra print right now! It's just sort of the "In" thing I think. My Pink Stamper's Challenge #11 is to create a project using the colors green, pink, & black. When I thought of those colors I instantly knew that I would be including that awesome zebra print paper I have. I think it turned out just "FABulous"!!!!! You will probably see a couple more projects including my zebra print in the near future:)

My Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #1

I am so glad that  I am able to get into my craft room a bit today. I had planned on spending as much of yesterday as I could in there but things came up and I of course got busy with a few other things. I LOVE all the challenges that My Pink Stamper has for National Scrapbook Day. I would love to complete all 12 but I do not think that I will be able to complete them all by tomorrow night. I will do my best though and have lots of fun creating. For challenge #1 we are to create a cupcake themed project. I of course instantly knew that I would pull out my Sweet Treats Cartridge for this one. I was inspired by Robyn's Cupcake card that she made. I used the same cupcake but different paper and colors. Her's is SUPER cute!

I did not keep exact measurements on these NSD projects but the card base is dark brown card stock  by Bazzill with an embossed flower layer also by Bazzill. The cupcake wrapper is cut from Echo Park Paper-A Walk In The Park. SUPER CUTE paper, I am in love with Echo Park Paper!!!!!!

I used the "Happy Birthday" Stamp for my TPC Studio Stamps with brown ink.

If you would like to submit a project for the Patches of Pink Spring Challenge & Link-up you have until Today May 8th, 2011 to do so. So...create something with a SPRING theme and link it up here.

Hope all of you Mother's out there are having a wonderful day! My Pink Stamper's NSD Challenge #4 is to create a project with a Mother's Day Theme. This was not hard since today is Mother's Day I needed to make one anyway. I really loved how this one came out. This is the card we are giving to my Mother-in-law today along with a beautiful pot of flowers for her to enjoy all Summer long. I have a couple other Mom's Day cards made but will have to wait to post them since I am not able to see my mom & sister today. She reads my blog so I do not want her to see it before I give it to her:)

There are 12 Challenges total and I will be doing what I can and posting as them as I finish them in no particular order.

This is my very first Easel Card and I LOVE it!

Patches of Pink Thursday Link-up & Challenge

Hello Everyone! I am so super excited for today's post. Welcome to the my first ever project/post as a design team member & first challenge featuring the Patches of Pink Design Team. How Exciting!!!! The challenge this week is to create a project using pastel colors and a Spring theme. I wanted to make something other than a card for this project so I decided to go with a wall/door hanger that screams SPRING.

Please join us in this weeks challenge and link-up your project here. You may enter the challenge starting today (Thursday) and going thru Sunday May 8th. Don't forget to come back on Monday to put your vote in for your favorite project. Voting starts Monday May 9th and ends Tuesday the 10th at Noon (EST).  Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

I wanted this to have a good sturdy base so I cut all the base pieces from cereal boxes that I have been saving. It provided the perfect thickness all layered up.

Recipe
All cuts minus the letters are from the Create-A-Critter Cartridge (My fav)
Base shape cut at 7/12" Pg 33 Raccoon Phrase
Light Blue Cardstock shape cut at 7 1/2" (layer right over cardboard)
Yellow Cardstock shape cut at 7"
Patterned Flower paper by Paper Studio cut at 6 1/2"
"Welcome Spring" letters cut from Cricut Classic Font at 1 1/2"
Sun cut at 2"
Butterflies cut at 1 1/2" without layers
Bird1 cut at 2 1/2"
Worm cut at 1 1/2"
White gel pen used for stitching

Birdhouse
Base shape and pink cardstock cut at 5"
Bird dimensional stickers by Recollections
Flower Gems from Target $1 Bin

The two pieces are connected by some light pink ribbon with white dots. I have glued them onto the back of the project but I am sure there are other ways you could attach them to.

Just A Note

Hi There! Hope you all are having a fantastic Monday, its a little chilly and overcast today here in Illinois where I live but I am looking forward to temps in the 70's midweek with hopefully some sunshine. I really need to get outside and get some yard work done. I love to be outside and can't wait to get out and start planting. We also have a few outside projects planned so I can't wait to get them started and see the end results. Anyway...I made this quick little card last week and I really love how simple it turned out. It was super easy to make and does not include a cricut cut (sigh). This is one of my favorite color combos to use.

Working on  few projects this week including my very First DT Project for Patches of Pink which will be up on Thursday so please check back then to see all the projects along with a challenge and link-up. You will not want to miss it!

I did not keep notes on the sizes of this card, it was just something I threw together but wanted to share with you.

I hope you enjoy & As Always Thank You Soooo Much For Stopping By!!

Let's Celebrate & An Announcement

Happy Monday to you all. I hope you all had a fabulous Easter and were able to spend it with the ones you love. We had a very busy weekend spending Saturday with my family and Sunday with my in-laws. Last week was crazy busy for so I did not get much crafting done at all. I somehow managed to whip up a couple cards at the request of my mother-in-law. So I thought that I would share them with you today. She was looking for a card to give to a friend who just recently got engaged. I kept it pretty simple a did two different designs for her to choose from. I could have gone with a more specific engagement theme with these but I just kept it simple.

Both of these cards were cut from the Sweethearts Cartridge (Pg 80) at 4 1/2. I also cut the matching envelope but I did not put it in picture.

I think that this yellow one is actually my favorite out of the two, although I do like them both. For this design I decided to use the celebrate sentiment from my new stamps by TPC Studio "Greetings". This is my first time using stamps in any of my projects so I am still working with them. I am not sure if is the ink I have or the fact that I was using textured card stock but I had a hard time getting the sentiment to look right.

This is what I call the Tiffany Blue Congrats card. I just love the way the colors looked with the black card base. This is the card that my mother-in-law picked to give. I also used the CONGRATS sentiment from my new stamps by TPC Studio.

AND NOW

MY ANNOUNCEMENT..........

Spring Fling Sign

Happy Sunday to you all. I hope you are all having a great day. I have been working on this project for about week, it really should not have taken a week but for some reason things were just not falling together for me on this project. Today is the last day to enter the Fantabulous Cricut Spring Fling Challenge so I thought if I wanted to get something entered I had to finish this today. The challenge was to create something for Spring using the colors PINK, GREEN, & YELLOW. I love that color combo so I am not sure why this was difficult. Anyways, I ended up making this sign to actually put in a frame and display in my craft room or maybe someplace else in my house. I also thought that I could make one as each new season approaches and always have a cute little sign to display. I already have ideas for a Summer sign. Enjoy!

Hey Cupcake

I FINALLY got to use my new Sweet Treats cartridge the other day. I am really loving what I came up with. I found this really cute cupcake paper at Hobby Lobby on clearance a few weeks ago so I thought it would go perfect for this project. I came across a challenge over at the Cricut Cardz Challenge blog to make a cupcake holder or wrapper for Easter. I am sad that I did not have a cute little cupcake on hand to put in this holder for the picture, it would have been really cute! I think these would be adorable filled with candy, not just cupcakes!  I felt like if I was going to make a holder that I would need a card to go with it, so I made them all match. I am kinda weird like that! At the last minute I decided I needed to make a tag to go along with everything. It is color coordinated but I did not have a thinner brown ribbon to use for it so it has a light pink ribbon with white dots. It still looks cute but I think it would have looked better with brown.

Happy Monday to you all. Its hard to believe that Easter is right around the corner and spring is starting make its presence, 2011 is rushing right along. It seems the older I get the faster things seem to go. I just got this really pretty spring paper by DoodleBug Design Inc a couple weeks ago so I was excited to finally use it. I knew if would make a perfect spring/Easter project. I ended up keeping it pretty simple because I loved the paper so much. Make A Wish

It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL Sunday here where I live, a little windy but sunny skies and in the low 80's. To bad its only going to be in the 60's tomorrow, well that is the Midwest for ya. I think that this may be the first Birthday card I have made. I actually started out this project thinking that I was going to use my new Sweet Treats cartridge but I actually ended up using this cute birthday cake from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I just thought it was so cute! I was having lighting issues for some reason with this picture so it did not photograph very well.

I am linking this card up to...

I have a couple friends who are pregnant so I am sure one of them will receive it.

Cute As A Bug

All of the cards that I have made have been for my personal enjoyment of making with the hopes of giving it to someone at some point. This week I finally got the chance to make and give not one but two cards away. My mother-in-law asked if I would make a card for the baby shower we would be attending this weekend so I of course could not turn down a chance to use my cricut. I needed to make a card to go along with my gift anyway so it gave me a little extra time in my craft room. I came up with 2 different designs and I love them both.

The mother-to-be has chosen a Ladybug theme for her baby girls room so I wanted to try to use them in some way in the cards.

This is the card my mother-in-law gave with her knitted blanket and baby sweater that she made. They turned out so adorable, she did an amazing job. I wish I had pictures to show you. She wanted a ladybug and the phrase "Cute As A Bug" on the card so this is what I came up with.

This is the card that I gave with for my gift.  I found this really cute paper at Hobby Lobby by Paper Studio that had some ladybugs on it so I wanted to use that for sure.

Manly "Nuts About U" Card

Hi everyone, sorry I know I have not posted very much the last week or so but I have been busy and was out of town for a while. I actually thought this week I would be able to get to spend a lot more time in my craft room but it just was not happening. First off I want to welcome all of my new followers that have found my blog through Momo's Link Your Blog Party  that she hosted on her blog. If you have less than 200 followers and have not listed your blog on her linky party then you must check it out here. So many amazing blogs are linked so please check it out! Thank you to all of my followers, I love having you as friends!!!!

I have really developed a passion for card making ever since I got my Cricut for Christmas. I really enjoy it! For this card I was hoping to pull off a more masculine look and I think I did it. It was a challenge for me because I like to make things pink and bright. I did make this for my husband and he thought it was manly. Well I came across a challenge this week on More Than Favors that requested a 'Manly Card" so I thought I would post this one. I love this little squirrel!

All A Flutter

I have now added butterflies to my "things I am obsessed with" list. Little Birdies and Owls are also on that list. I think that the Create-A-Critter Cartridge has the cutest of these but this is about the only really cool cartridge I have at this point so I am sure there are more out there. Which by the way I am getting a few more cartridges in the next few weeks so there will be an end to my projects with only CAC. At least not every project I post. It will be nice to try out something new. Well, Kristal over at Getting Cricky with K. Andrew is having a Simply Sunday Challenge with a theme of All A Flutter. I have had this cute butterfly patterned paper by Paper Studio for a while now but was not for sure how exactly I wanted to use it until tonight. I all of a sudden had an image come into mind and after playing for a bit I came up with this! Simple, but sure to put a SMILE on any ones face:) Enjoy!

This picture is not the best, I woke up to a VERY gloomy day so the lighting was not good at all. I really wanted to get this posted so I went with the best one.
