Just a few cards

Hi there! Hope your Sunday is starting out great. I had big plans for today that included spending a lot of time outside doing some yard work and planting flowers. Unfortunately the weather here in Illinois is not going to make that at all possible today. Last week we had temps in the high 80's and even a couple days just over 90 and pretty humid, we even had to turn the air on. Well today it is rainy, windy and cold with a HIGH today of 50. Needless to say we now have the heat on in the house. GRRRRRRRRR! So I guess today I get some things done around the house and hopefully some crafting as well. Yesterday I got to spend the whole day with my Mom, Sister & adorable niece celebrating Mother's Day since I could not be with them last weekend. We had a great time as usual and even got to do a little bit of scrapbook shopping as well. I wanted to post a couple cards that I made for them but did not want to post until I was able to give them.

This is an easel card that I made for my Mom. I have been playing around a little bit with my photo editing program in hopes of making my photos look a little better. I also photographed these photos against a white background which I think came out OK. I like how bright and clear I was able to make them, so all the details can be seen. I am not a pro at taking photos by any means and do not have a great camera either but I think I like the way they turned out. I still have a lot to learn.

If you don't know how to make an easel card you really do have to give it a try. It is really easy and I found my dimensions and a great tutorial here at Scrappin 5 Little Cupcakes. She gives all the dimensions and shows how it goes together. There are other easel card dimensions and tutorials out in blog land but this is just the one I picked to use. The sentiment at the bottom is printed using a font available in my Microsoft Word program. The font used was Harrington. The patterned paper is by Paper Studio and the cute snail is cut from the Create-A-Critter cartridge and the Mom letters were cut from Cricut Classic Font Cartridge.

This is the card that I made for my sister. As I have told you before I am in LOVE with Zebra print and I absolutely LOVE these colors together. It ROCKS! The sentiment for this card is actually printed on using a font from Kevin & Amanda. Find the font I used here.

I have linked these cards up at:

My Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #11

Good Morning to you all! Hope your Monday is starting out great. I am in LOVE with zebra print right now! It's just sort of the "In" thing I think. My Pink Stamper's Challenge #11 is to create a project using the colors green, pink, & black. When I thought of those colors I instantly knew that I would be including that awesome zebra print paper I have. I think it turned out just "FABulous"!!!!! You will probably see a couple more projects including my zebra print in the near future:)

My Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #1

I am so glad that  I am able to get into my craft room a bit today. I had planned on spending as much of yesterday as I could in there but things came up and I of course got busy with a few other things. I LOVE all the challenges that My Pink Stamper has for National Scrapbook Day. I would love to complete all 12 but I do not think that I will be able to complete them all by tomorrow night. I will do my best though and have lots of fun creating. For challenge #1 we are to create a cupcake themed project. I of course instantly knew that I would pull out my Sweet Treats Cartridge for this one. I was inspired by Robyn's Cupcake card that she made. I used the same cupcake but different paper and colors. Her's is SUPER cute!

I did not keep exact measurements on these NSD projects but the card base is dark brown card stock  by Bazzill with an embossed flower layer also by Bazzill. The cupcake wrapper is cut from Echo Park Paper-A Walk In The Park. SUPER CUTE paper, I am in love with Echo Park Paper!!!!!!

I used the "Happy Birthday" Stamp for my TPC Studio Stamps with brown ink.

If you would like to submit a project for the Patches of Pink Spring Challenge & Link-up you have until Today May 8th, 2011 to do so. So...create something with a SPRING theme and link it up here.

Hope all of you Mother's out there are having a wonderful day! My Pink Stamper's NSD Challenge #4 is to create a project with a Mother's Day Theme. This was not hard since today is Mother's Day I needed to make one anyway. I really loved how this one came out. This is the card we are giving to my Mother-in-law today along with a beautiful pot of flowers for her to enjoy all Summer long. I have a couple other Mom's Day cards made but will have to wait to post them since I am not able to see my mom & sister today. She reads my blog so I do not want her to see it before I give it to her:)

There are 12 Challenges total and I will be doing what I can and posting as them as I finish them in no particular order.

This is my very first Easel Card and I LOVE it!

Patches of Pink Thursday Link-up & Challenge

Hello Everyone! I am so super excited for today's post. Welcome to the my first ever project/post as a design team member & first challenge featuring the Patches of Pink Design Team. How Exciting!!!! The challenge this week is to create a project using pastel colors and a Spring theme. I wanted to make something other than a card for this project so I decided to go with a wall/door hanger that screams SPRING.

Please join us in this weeks challenge and link-up your project here. You may enter the challenge starting today (Thursday) and going thru Sunday May 8th. Don't forget to come back on Monday to put your vote in for your favorite project. Voting starts Monday May 9th and ends Tuesday the 10th at Noon (EST).  Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

I wanted this to have a good sturdy base so I cut all the base pieces from cereal boxes that I have been saving. It provided the perfect thickness all layered up.

Recipe
All cuts minus the letters are from the Create-A-Critter Cartridge (My fav)
Base shape cut at 7/12" Pg 33 Raccoon Phrase
Light Blue Cardstock shape cut at 7 1/2" (layer right over cardboard)
Yellow Cardstock shape cut at 7"
Patterned Flower paper by Paper Studio cut at 6 1/2"
"Welcome Spring" letters cut from Cricut Classic Font at 1 1/2"
Sun cut at 2"
Butterflies cut at 1 1/2" without layers
Bird1 cut at 2 1/2"
Worm cut at 1 1/2"
White gel pen used for stitching

Birdhouse
Base shape and pink cardstock cut at 5"
Bird dimensional stickers by Recollections
Flower Gems from Target $1 Bin

The two pieces are connected by some light pink ribbon with white dots. I have glued them onto the back of the project but I am sure there are other ways you could attach them to.

Please stop on over at the Patches of Pink blog and check out all the other fabulous projects by the other PoP Design Team Members and don't forget to play along with us in this challenge and link-up!

Just A Note

Hi There! Hope you all are having a fantastic Monday, its a little chilly and overcast today here in Illinois where I live but I am looking forward to temps in the 70's midweek with hopefully some sunshine. I really need to get outside and get some yard work done. I love to be outside and can't wait to get out and start planting. We also have a few outside projects planned so I can't wait to get them started and see the end results. Anyway...I made this quick little card last week and I really love how simple it turned out. It was super easy to make and does not include a cricut cut (sigh). This is one of my favorite color combos to use.

Working on  few projects this week including my very First DT Project for Patches of Pink which will be up on Thursday so please check back then to see all the projects along with a challenge and link-up. You will not want to miss it!

I did not keep notes on the sizes of this card, it was just something I threw together but wanted to share with you.

I hope you enjoy & As Always Thank You Soooo Much For Stopping By!!
